Resetting ink Levels On HP Printers With Black 21, 27, 56 & 58 Cartridges

1. Place a piece of electrical tape over
Contact 1
as shown in picture 27, 56 left & 58 above left.
2. Place cartridge back into printer with tape in place.
3. The print will print an alignment page.
4. Once alignment page is complete, open printer cover and remove cartridge.
5. Place a piece of electrical tape over
Contact 1 & 2
shown in picture 27 & 56 right & 58 above right.
6. Place cartridge back into printer. The printer will again print an alignment page.
7. Once alignment page is complete, open printer cover and remove cartridge.
8. Remove all tape from the cartridge.
IMPORTANT:
make sure contacts are clean before returning cartridge to theprinter.
9. Re-insert cartridge back into printer. They should now show 100% full.
10. If the procedure did not work. Repeat procedure making sure each step is followed carefully.
11. Any residue on the contacts can prevent the cartridge from working and will prevent the cartridge
from being recognized by the printer.
