Resetting Ink Level On HP Printer With: 17, 17, 23, 25, 41, 45 &78 Cartridges.
Most printers only remember the last two cartridges (of each colour) used in the printer.
If you have two spare cartridges (these can be old or non functional). Simply place them into the printer,
one after the other and then put your refilled cartridges back in, to restore the 100% ink level.
If you do not have spare cartridges, follow the procedure below.
1. Remove your cartridge or cartridges from the printer and face them as shown above.
(Note you can reset individual cartridges or both together).
2. Place a piece of electrical tape so that it just covers the top 4 contact on the top left side of the
contact area shown in
3. Re-insert the cartridges into the printer with the tape in place.
4. Close lid and wait 5 seconds.
5. Open lid and wait for the printer to move the cartridge into thecartridge remove position.
(
Note:
The printer may take a few seconds and may flash to show there is an error with your
cartridges. This is normal).
6. Remove the cartridges again and move the electrical tape to the opposite side as shown in
7. Re-insert the cartridges into the printer with the tape in place.
8. Close lid and wait 5 seconds.
9. Open lid and wait for the printer to move the cartridge into thecartridge remove position.

Note:
The printer may take a few seconds and may flash to show there is an error with your
cartridges. This is normal).
10. Remove cartridges and all tape from contacts.
IMPORTANT:
Make sure contact are clean before returning cartridges to printer.
11. Place cartridges back into the printer. They should now show 100% full.
12. If they do not show full you will need to repeat the process butonly cover the top 3 contact.
13. If it still does not show full, Repeat procedure but only cover the top 2.
