HP adds Designjet Z3200 photo printer to its professional printing range

Hewlett Packard has added a new printer to its Z series professional printing portfolio in the shape of the HP Designjet Z3200 Photo Printer. Touted as ideal for everyone from photographers to graphic designers, the Z3200 features a 12-ink printing system which can achieve print permeance of more than 200 years when used with HP creative printing materials.
The system uses HP Vivera pigment inks and features the new HP 73 Chromatic Red ink which enables up to 95% Pantone coverage. It can also produce true neutral grays thanks to the HP Quad-Black Ink, while the HP Gloss Enhancer ensures gloss uniformity across prints.
Other key features of the printer include HP DreamColour Technologies, which together with the embedded spectrophotometer, simplifies accurate color matching and profiling, while the enhanced HP Colour Center lets users easily manage their paper presets and adjust print settings. The Z3200 prints at speeds of up tp 12.4 minutes per page for an A1 colour image on glossy paper in best print mode. Prices have so far only been released for the States, where it is due out in October. There are two models to choose from - the 24-inch at $3,395 and the 44-inch model at $5,595.
