ILG announces relief drive for tornado victims

The 22 May tornado, which reached wind speeds of nearly 200 mph, destroyed much of the town, with cars, homes, businesses, churches and hospitals bearing the brunt of destruction. 126 people are confirmed to have died, and 232 are still missing.

The company stated: “ILG extends sympathies and well wishes to those who have suffered through these disasters. As part of the world community, ILG is taking a leadership role in corporate citizenship to assist those victims of catastrophe.

“ILG has always made efforts throughout its 23 years to help those in need through charitable contributions. ILG is proud to respond to the much needed relief efforts.”

Gary Michaels, COO of ILG, has asked both employees and their families to contribute, and pledged contributions from each cartridge sold for the next 30 days. All donations will go to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund for those affected.

Those interested in donating to the fund through ILG’s Facebook page or website.

Aftermarket component supplier Static Control suffered severe damage to its North Carolina facilities in a flurry of tornado activity in April.
