FC Barcelona cuts down on ink and toner supplies

The club, which is currently trying to purchase a series of world-class footballers including Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas and Udinese’s Alexis Sanchez at a potential outlay of £60 million, is making cuts across the board to support future transfers and ensure its future economic stability.
FC Barcelona President, Sandro Rosell told Catalunya’s TV3: “By being austere, hard and losing friends we removed the catering events, our bodyguards, and we have even stopped making photocopies in colour at the club. Now we do black and white and save on toner.
“I am concerned about the club’s economic sustainability. We have to balance the books. We have sorted out the situation and what the economic area has achieved means we have €45m (£40 million) to spend on transfers this summer plus sales.”
The club, which recently won football’s European Cup in London in May, is organised as a registered association, which means that unlike most football teams, shares cannot be purchased in the club, and membership entitles an individual to form the socis, a series of delegates that control the club’s operations.
