Data Direct expands into printer supplies market

After nearly two decades focusing on the copier industry, UK based supplier Data Direct has been hard at work gearing up to place a new emphasis on the printers.
The new division is headed by Business Development Manager Peter Cowan, who brings more than 25 years of industry experience around the world to the team.
Explaining the new direction, he said: “Having been in the office equipment industry for almost 20 years, Data Direct are now expanding their focus into the printer market - this is being done as a logical next step of growth for the company.
“The focus was traditionally copier products, but obviously the printer market is far bigger and therefore warrants a new focus.”
The Wokingham, UK-based company has began introducing compatible and remanufactured printer cartridges alongside its wide range of copier products over the last few months, following strong growth over the last year.
Data Direct is also looking to expand its team, and recently recruited Martin Hoeck, who brings many years of experience with companies including Smart Cartridge and XPS.
Cowan continued: “Initial results have been excellent, and show a real hunger is still in the market for high quality products at competitive pricing, our global sourcing experience enables us to ensure highest quality as well as taking advantage of our transport arrangements to achieve best landed cost.
“We will be expanding our printer team over the next 12 months, and will be showcasing many new products (and faces) at Remanexpo next year.”
