Kodak Releases New HERO Line Of All-in-One Printers

Kodak has introduced a new line of Kodak Hero All-in-One printers that is able to print files pushed from any device connected to the internet. This feature is possible due to the implementation of Google Cloud Print and Kodak's own Email Print technologies.
“Google Cloud Print enables users to print from any app, on any device, to any printer without the need for drivers or a PC connection,” said Mike Jazayeri, Product Management Director at Google. “The service works with existing printers as well as with a new generation of Google Cloud Print Ready printers, so we’re very excited that Kodak’s new HERO All-in-One Printers support the service.”
Four models comprise the range; the Hero 5.1, 7.1 and 9.1 are targeted at consumers, while the Hero 6.1 is aimed at the home office user. All offer print resolutions of 9,600 optimized dpi for high-resolution color documents and 1200 x 1200 for black documents. The printers also possess double-sided printing, Wi-Fi connectivity and a four-in-one memory card slot.
The thing that makes this feature different is that the device sending the print command does not need to have the printer drivers installed, which greatly increases the printer's compatibility with other devices.
Kodak has released four models in the Hero series with this feature the Kodak Hero 9.1, Kodak Hero 7.1, Kodak Hero 6.1, and Kodak Hero 5.1. The Hero range is priced from L99 ($158/€113) to L199 ($318/€226) and will be available within the month.
