Epson Introduces New Stylus NX Printers

In addition to unveiling a single function ink jet printer – the Epson Artisan 50 – Epson is also adding four new models to its Epson Stylus NX line, for those who would like to be able to do more than just print.

Epson Stylus NX415The cheapest of the lot is the Epson Stylus NX115, and it has the ability to print up to 30 pages per minute in black and white. The Epson Stylus NX215 features a 1.5 inch LCD screen and memory card slots, can print borderless photos and has the ability to print up to 32 pages per minute in black and white.

The Epson Stylus NX415 features a bigger, tiltable LCD screen at 2.5 inches, memory card slots, red eye removal, and print speed of up to 34 pages per minute. The last model, the Epson Stylus NX515 has built in Ethernet and WiFi capabilities and print speed of up to 36 pages per minute.

There was no specific mention of the other functions available to the printer, but as far as all-in-ones for home and small office use go, we can probably expect copying and scanning capabilities. Epson warns, though, that some functions such as double-sided printing may not be supported by Mac systems.

All four printers are fitted with MicroPiezo print technology and have individual cartridges for its ink so you only need to replace the cartridge color that ran out. You can also expect smudge-, fade- and water-resistant photo prints with Epson's exclusive DuraBrite all-pigment inks.

All models work with OS x 10.3.9, 10.4.11, and 10..5.x and are set to hit stores in June, just like the Epson Artisan 50.
