HP Officejet 6000 Wireless Printer

Among the new models of the HP Officejet Portfolio is the wireless HP Officejet 6000.

The HP Officejet 6000 wireless printer claims to offer fast wireless network printing along with the opportunity to make savings of up to 40% on cost per color page as well as energy consumption when compared to laser printers. While wireless connectivity comes as a standard feature, it also has USB and Ethernet connection capabilities and has automatic duplex printing.

A quick look at the product's Eco Highlights label reveals the following information: that the printer will give users the ability to reduce energy use by up to 40%; that automatic duplex printing will allow users to save up to 50% on paper; that HP Smart Web printing will allow users to print only the web content that is needed, which we presume will translate to more savings in terms of ink and paper use; and that the model is Energy Star qualified.

PrinterComparison's tests indicate that the HP Officejet 6000 Wireless, as with most new printers released recently, is easy to set up. Being a single-function printer, it is also relatively straightforward and easy to use. The criticism was in terms of print speed, which was claimed by HP as one of the product's selling points. At an average of 17 ppm in draft mode, the actual result was nowhere near the claim of 32 ppm.

What it lacked in speed, though, it made up for in quality. The machine produced excellent quality prints — laser-like when it came to black and white prints. For an inkjet printer, it was able to deliver great quality color prints using copy paper, more so when using presentation paper or HP ColorLok.

The HP Officejet 6000 Wireless is set to hit stores this month.
