Hewlett Packard # 920 and # 564
Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Photo Black
Items Needed: gloves, cyan, yellow & magenta ink, black pigment, photo/dye black,
hand-drill, paper towels, review hints & tips and check list Do not plug fill holes. The
inks in these cartridges are retained because the cartridges have an internal
sponge.
Note: Refilling instructions for the Hp 564 and the Hp 920 are the same.
1. Put the cartridge on some paper towels in an area where you can tolerate a spill.
2. With a rubber band tightly put on the orange cap that covered the outlet port. If you no
longer have the orange cap then put on a vinyl glove and put your finger over the outlet
port. This will prevent ink from dripping out while you refill.
3. Insert the correct color using the syringe needle bottle tip deep inside of each of the
fill-holes. For the standard 564 release up to 4 ml. of the appropriate color of ink for the
564XL release up to 8 ml. of the appropriate color of ink. Holding the bottle upside down
it is 5 mls from the top to the first marker line and then 3 mls each marker line.
4. You are going to fill the cartridge through the vent hole. To see the vent hole peel off
the top label.
